Advice for parents of all age groups
Whatever your childís age, you will need to become very familiar with your childís story and feel comfortable with it. If you find certain parts of the story difficult then spend time talking it over with your partner or social worker. The more you practice, the easier it will be to share the story with your child.
If you are worried about sharing certain information with your child, think about the reasons for this and how you can overcome them. Coming to terms with your own feelings is a big hurdle, and it is vital that you do this before speaking about the issue with your child as they will pick up on any anxieties and be affected by them.
